Spotify’s latest feature is something that third parties have been offering for a long time, and in fact it’s being launched in collaboration with one of those third parties. We’re talking about the ability to transfer your playlists from competing services directly to Spotify.

This is powered by TuneMyMusic, a service that has been offering playlist transfers between online music streaming services for a while now. It’s now somewhat integrated into Spotify itself, but of course only for the playlists you want to move into Spotify and not out of it.

Spotify now has a built-in way to transfer your playlists from competing services

Go to Your Library in the Spotify mobile app, scroll to the bottom, then tap “Import Your Music” and follow the instructions to connect with TuneMyMusic. Then simply choose the competing platform that your playlists you want to import are on, select which playlists you want to bring to Spotify, and they will be transferred. There are no limits to the number of playlists you can import or the number of songs each can contain.

This feature is believed to be “rolling out globally in the next few days,” so if you don’t see it yet, be patient – it will show up eventually.
